"La profecía de los termómetros". (2019)
Electroacoustic composition.
I composed this piece as part of the soundtrack that accompanies my book of poems "El borde exterior" (Lima, 2020).
It was composed using lo-fi analogue electroacoustic hardware, also using field recordings and files collected from internet transformed into samples.
The theme of this piece is the evidence of climate change. It attempts to represent the fragility of human beings in the face of the depredation of their natural systems, which, embodied in the song of the now extinct selk'nam ancestors, reminds us of the tragic destiny when greed takes hold of hearts. Those who direct the destinies of humanity seem to forget the "prophecy", the one embodied in the dire statistics about changes in planetary temperatures. We live in a state of alert, administered by those who think they own the world.

"La memoria es un planeta lejano I". (2022)
Electroacoustic composition.
"Memory is a distant planet I" is an imaginary soundscape, which attempts to reflect on the theme of absence and loss, and how digital media allow us to capture and store glimpses of a concrete reality.
However, these small syntagms of meaning only manage to account for a half-hearted reconstruction plagued with valuable subjectivities, which are ultimately responsible for creating a hologram, a mirror, an alternative reality of that which wants to be represented again, in the end, an image of its impossibility.
This sound piece belongs to a broader project of the same name, which arises from the need to express and understand the circumstance of death and the mystery that underlies it, in an intuitive and reflexive way. Faced with the absence of the body, the stored bits reconstruct in part that essence that has irremediably departed.
